Suitable for students who want to understand the lineage of Siddhas and the roots of Siddha Yoga meditation, this book introduces many of these great masters and comments on key teachings of Kashmir Shaivism and Vedanta.
Product Description
For thousands of years the teachings of the spiritual Masters known as Siddhas have been handed down from Guru to disciple in an unbroken lineage.
Swami Muktananda, one of the great Siddhas of teh twentieth century, writes movingly in this book of the extraordinary ways of the Siddhas he himself knew, and introduces us to the philosophy - Kashmir Shaivism - that describes their experience.
This subtle yet precise system delineates the stages through which God bursts into form to become His own creation, and the spiritual path that leads us back to him.

Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!], Friday 11 November, 2005 Reviewer: Siva Balan from , Singapore
This important book is divided into 37 chapters, containing 414 groups of paragraphs. This enables the reader to easily go through each of the different points of the philosophy of the siddhas. Swami Muktananda also introduces the philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism (which is little understood in the west) in this priceless book.
The reason why I love this book is because the contents are easy to read and understand. Moreover, there is a comprehensive glossary and index at the back of the book. Readers who are unfamiliar in sanskrit would find the glossary index invaluable.
I would recommend this book to those readers who have a deep interest in Siddha Yoga and who are followers of Swami Muktananda. Although this book is NOT an introduction to the basics of Siddha Yoga, the beginner reader would be able to understand the meaning (at least on an intellectual level) of Siddha Yoga and the philosophy behind it. However, it would prove to be beneficial to the reader if he/she practices meditation before reading each paragraph of this book. Only then will the reader have a deeper understanding on what the Swami is trying to reveal to the world through this simple yet complex philosophy of Siddha Yoga.
